【岗位职责】
Program Management • Principal Group Program Manager (1) o The GPM will oversee the PMs in both the Teams Client and the Teams Media space building delightful media experience for Teams customers. • Sr+ Program Manager – Teams Media AI (1) • Sr+ Program Manager – Teams Media Platform (1) Software Engineering • Principal Engineering Manager (1) o The EM will primarily build and lead the team to build an AI powered media stack focusing on better estimating network bandwidth, computer vision and leveraging AI chips to offload processing. The team will be working in Modern C++ working closely with MSR and MSRA. • Senior Software Engineer – Networking (1) • Software Engineer II – Networking (1) o Solid design and coding skills in C++/Modern C++ (required) o Networking, TCP or WebRTC (at least one area) o Google Congestion Control (optional) • Senior Software Engineer – Computer Vision (1) • Software Engineer II – Computer Vision (1) o Solid design and coding skills in C++/Modern C++ (required) o AI in video technologies. Make the ML models developed by MSR/MSRA to work for different chipset (required) o develop optimize code that makes for better memory, cpu and battery efficiency (preferred) • Senior Software Engineer – Media AI Pipeline (1) • Software Engineer II – Media AI Pipeline (1) o Solid design and coding skills in Modern C++ (required) o Understanding of AI pipeline, how to efficiently utilize the various AI chips to improve performance (preferred) • Senior Software Engineer – Media Platform (1) • Software Engineer II – Media AI Platform (1) o Solid design and coding skills in Modern C++ (required) o Experience in one of technologies such as OpenGL, Image Processing, Android Media Framework (preferred) • Principal Software Engineer – Teams Client (1) • Sr. Software Engineer – Teams Client (2) • Software Engineer – Teams Client (1) o Deep understanding of performant Javascript and/or Typescript. o Experience in one or more of UI frameworks like React, Angular or Web development o Ability to understand and implement responsive UI components.

Team Charters: • SOX IC3 Team - Build unique video differentiation that allows Teams users to increase engagement and effectiveness of their meetings. o AI powered-media stack: AI/ML allows us to create magical user experiences which would not have been possible a few years ago. Examples include background replacement, echo detection, noise suppression, etc. The mission for this team is to build fully AI powered, innovative, reliable and delightful user experiences for audio and video in Teams. To achieve this, the team will work closely with our partners in MSR/MSRA and ecosystems partners in the devices space. Specifically we will focus on these 3 areas:  Network Bandwidth Estimation: To improve quality over poor networks we will continue to invest into the deep bandwidth control which will avoid network congestion and thus reduce packet loss. We will also predict calls over poor networks even before the media connection is established. Under estimation could result in poor quality. Over estimation can congest the network. We will first leverage existing technologies such as Google Congestion Control (GCC) while working in parallel with researchers to experiment and rollout homegrown ML models to predict network bandwidth.  Computer Vision: While video usage helps makes meetings more effective, too much video also leads to a lot of video fatigue. This team will have a big role to play here in developing solutions to make meetings more engaging, fun and reducing video fatigue. The areas that this team will work on includes enabling camera effects such as touchup, eye gaze, and lighting, active speaker detection, etc.  AI Chip Offloading: The focus area for this team is to make the AI pipeline super-efficient. Today, the technology has advanced such that a lot of the AI processing happens in the devices. For example, face recognition and lighting are done in the camera. This team will focus on offloading AI processing where applicable to provide a smooth user experience. We want to develop fully AI powered, innovative, reliable and delightful user experiences for audio and video in Teams. The race towards the AI-powered media stack is on! Are you in? o Teams Media Platform: This team will focus on taking advantage of the hardware capabilities of the ever evolving devices ecosystem to provide a great media experience for our customers adapting to the capacity of each unique device type. Because of the large range of supported devices, media platform needs to adapt to the capacity available by the device. This includes what resolutions it can support for video, what frame rate and what codecs. • Teams CMD Team - Make Teams unequivocally the best solution for calling, meetings, and events for every business, school, and consumer. The Principal Software Engineer will primarily play a hands-on architect role. They will work closely with key stakeholders to develop the product vision, dive deep into the overall Teams architecture to identify architectural improvements, should have knowledge of responsive UI principles and guide the team to understand and implement responsive UI components. o Meetings Intelligence: The Senior and SWE positions will be part of the Meetings Intelligence team. The main focus of this team is to build a delightful user experience in Teams client to enable users to have effective and enjoyable meetings. The team will work on features such as Video Extensibility Platform to allow 3P developers provide camera effects in meetings, Meeting Assistant to help individuals better organize and manage their meetings, and spatial audio that applies directional audio filters adjusting the frequencies that each ear hears so that sounds can be placed virtually anywhere in 3D space.
