Corporate Research – Research and Technology Center Asia Pacific is a team of international & interdisciplinary scientists, driving cutting edge research to leverage on Asia’s excellent expertise. Scientifically verified knowledge and insights are the foundation of our sustainable solutions. Through our innovation, we develop a vision for the future product of Bosch, evaluate its feasibility, and convert it into practical solutions. We set trends and enable new business opportunities for Bosch.

  • Conduct research and pre-development of innovative powertrain systems and power electronics components for electrified vehicles
  • Hardware innovation and development for motor controller (inverter) and other power electronic converters such as DC/DC converter and AC/DC converter
  • Work closely with the Corporate Research headquarter in Germany and business units on competence development and project activities
  • Work closely with business units in China to supply cutting edge technology solutions and to transform them to products
  • Execute technology scouting that covers both academia and industry in China/Asia for preparing strategic decisions

Main responsibility includes:              

  • Pursue technology excellence by contributing brilliant ideas to new product concepts including patent filing
  • Prove innovation concept by pre-development including design, simulation, prototyping, test and validation
  • Design and implement hardware of controller devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment
  • Support project activities to transfer deliverables to business units successfully

Qualifications


  • PhD degree in discipline of Power electronics or electric drives
  • Expert knowledge and practical experiences in power converter/inverter hardware design, simulation, rapid prototyping and experimental validation
  • Good knowledge with wide bandgap power semiconductors, converter control, magnetic design and tools e.g. Ansys, Plecs and Simulink
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (oral and written), speaking German is a plus
  • Good knowledge with certain level of experience on electric powertrain system and components e.g. inverter, electric motor, gearbox, as well as fuel cell system are preferred
  • International education and experiences is a plus
  • Efficient, goal-oriented, structured working style, experienced in project work
  • Passionate for innovation; filed patents on qualified content during PhD or prior work is a benefit
  • Strong team player; open to work in an international environment
